Genoa 1-3 Juventus: Dybala & Ronaldo Net as Old Lady Maintain Four-Point Lead

Image
Juventus maintained their four-point lead at the top of Serie A after comfortably dispatching Genoa 3-1 at Luigi Ferraris Stadium. The Old Lady had seen their advantage at the top of the table cut to just a point - after Lazio came from a goal down to win at Torino earlier in the day - but Maurizio Sarri's men were worthy winners against a Rossoblù side looking nervously over their shoulders at the relegation zone. Douglas Costa and Cristiano Ronaldo were both on the scoresheet. As expected, Juve were dominant in possession during the opening 45 minutes - enjoying 76% of the ball - and stroked the ball around nicely without really adding much substance to their play. I Bianconeri were predominantly restricted to long range shots at goal, with Mattia Perin comfortably dealing with Cristiano Ronaldo and Federico Bernardeschi's efforts. It was a different story after the break, however, as  Paulo Dybala  fired Juventus into the lead just five minutes into the second half. The Arge

Manchester United's Alternative Targets to Jadon Sancho - Ranked

Image
If Borussia Dortmund are resigned to losing Jadon Sancho this summer, then their poker face deserves substantial praise. The England winger remains Manchester United's primary target for the window ahead, but despite frequent speculation, Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke has claimed United will not be able to afford the 20-year-old. Couple that with Saturday's claims from board member Sebastian Kehl that the club 'expect' Sancho to remain at Signul Iduna Park beyond the summer, and it's beginning to seem more and more likely that United will have to look elsewhere in the meantime to strengthen their squad. With that in mind,  90min  have brought together speculation and common sense to come up with a list of alternative targets, and ranked them on their suitability. 7. Willian Willian's signing wouldn't quite excite United fans The short-term option United fans will be desperately hoping they don't have to consider, Willian will likely be considered an J

Scott McTominay Has All the Tools to Become Manchester United's Midfield Hero

Image
Questions were asked and many eyebrows were raised when, in 2018, Jose Mourinho invented a 'Manager's Player of the Year' award at Manchester United purely for Scott McTominay, who had just broken into the first team. Mourinho was responsible for McTominay's emergence at United, and while he was initially viewed by many as the 'teacher's pet' and a height merchant - as the hipsters say - he's gone on to assert himself as one of the first names on the United team sheet. Granted, anyone who scores a winning goal in a Manchester derby is set to become a fan favourite at some point, but it would be unfair to summarise McTominay's rise thus far with just that admittedly excellent strike versus  Manchester City . Jose Mourinho gave Scott McTominay his Manchester United debut in 2017 McTominay has slowly turned into a fan favourite at United since his debut season, quietly sharpening his skills and maximising the game time he's been afforded. He's q

Juventus 'Confident' of Paulo Dybala Contract Extension Despite Barcelona Talk

Juventus are 'confident' Paulo Dybala will sign a contract extension, according to the club's chief football officer Fabio Paratici. In an interview last week, 26-year-old Dybala expressed an interest in playing for  Barcelona  in the future - talking up the possibility of linking up with international teammate Lionel Messi. "The truth is that Barcelona is huge team worldwide and with Messi there, even bigger," he said. "It would be very nice, but Juventus is also an incredible club, very big, full of history, where there are currently great players." Dybala and Messi together playing for Argentinq The Argentine has two years left on his current deal at Juve, while the Italian champions are keen to extend his stay, potentially offering a substantial pay rise to go with the new deal. Goal  report that Dybala, who was linked with  Manchester United  and  Tottenham  last summer, is demanding €12m a year (roughly €230k a week). In an interview on Friday, Par
